Can't Sleep

So, I can't sleep.  Why???? Tonight it is because my son is about to start high school and all I can think about as I'm trying to go to sleep is him.  I worry, I think that it will be great, what if it's not, it will all be so new, he's kinda quiet, he's awesome, I hope he makes good grades, he is going to be so busy, I am going to be so busy, hope he makes new friends, will he like it, what if he doesn't, and on and on and on.
I was tired and sleepy when I went to bed!!! Dang brain!  Just stop!
He's been gone ALOT the last 3 and 1/2 weeks and now there's only 11 days until school starts!!!! The next two days he has band all day, then soccer starts on the 15th.  Which by the way, no one informed us newbys that so much started early in August, so he's missed bunches of stuff due to our vacation.  Which is kinda hard because I don't want him to feel like he's behind. I'm excited for him, but nervous. 
Oh and I'm like the hall monitor at my house right now.  My two youngest keep waking up and trying to get in bed with us which ...okay...wish I could I could be all sweet and snuggly, but I just can't.  I think we all get better sleep in our own beds.  So I've put them both back into bed while typing several times. ;) 
So anyway, I have to give it all to the Lord.  He knows, He's good, He's faithful, He knows what my son needs, and has amazing things for him.  I just will keep praying and trusting.
Now hopefully I can get some sleep.

Stampin

Okay, so I have this new little hobby.  I love to try new things!  I've always had a desire to be crafty/creative, but with my busy life I just haven't much opportunity.  Ya know?  So when I see a window of opportunity to do something to fulfill that part of me, I jump on it!  I have this super cool neighbor from England who does Stampin Up.  It's basically like scrapebooking, but is more on the card making side of things.  I'd love to scrapebook too, but HAVE NOT FOUND THE TIME.  So everynow and then I go to one of her "things" and make something fun.  I'm starting to collect my own stampin items and have been  able to make a few things at home.  Love it. :)

Gardening???

Have you ever planted a garden?  I never have; never! I've never had the place to do it really.  Well, when we moved to Colorado the house we got had a perfect spot.  It was overtaken with weeds and we contemplated just planting grass, but decided to go for it! So we planted a huge garden even though we'd never done it before.  One Saturday we all got out there and pulled weeds and cleared the area.  The kids helped! Woo!  Then my husband decided to till the dirt.  That's what your supposed to do right?  So, the next day we take the kids and pick out all the seeds and prepared to plant.  Jay, my husband, draws out a map of where everything will be planted and makes the rows.  Everyone begins to plant the seeds and within an hour or two we are done.  We planted watermelon, squash, okra, pumpkin, lettuce, cauliflower, carrots, and uhhmmm I think that's all.  What an accomplishment!  We felt pretty darn good about it. Low and behold, a few weeks later we noticed that there were these little purple "things" sprouting up EVERYWHERE AND I MEAN EVERYWHERE!!!  What they hay!??  Not only were they in between the rows, but on top of everything we planted.  Yes, it's a bit commical, but I was the one who would ultimatley be dealing with these creatures growing up from the underworld all around my fresh veggies!  So I took a clump of it to our local nursery to get some advice.  The "wise" man began with "Ohhhh", and proceeded to tell me that they were weed seed.  I explained to him our whole process and when I got the tilling part he stopped me.  He explained that what we had done was stirred up weed seeds that had probably been dormant for about 15-20 years.  WHAT?!!?? So guess what I had to do?  Yep, pull them.......all....of....them.  Slowly but surely I'm pulling, hoeing, and raking these evil weeds from my garden. Spent some time doing it today and got a nice little burn on my back.  Next time, I don't think we will be tilling anything.  Live and learn! :)

First time

Well, here I go!  Like I need another thing to do, but I'm going to start blogging.  Maybe it will just be a much needed outlet to get all the choas that goes through my brain on a daily basis out!  I'm not really sure how to do it or if I will even stick with it, but I'm going to give it a shot. I won't be trying to win a prize or change lives with it, but just want to write my thoughts because there are so dang many.  Some days I feel that my head will explode at any minute and that I don't know which way to direct my attention because of all the things running through my brain.  Ha...maybe I'm ADD, but I'm sure many of you can relate.  :)
